Chonbuk National University, located in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, is the first national university established first in Southeastern area of South Korea.
The university has a big organization of 14 colleges and 3 graduate school for medical, law and dentistry. More than 1,000 professors and 30,000 students (26,000 undergraduates, 5000 graduate) are composed of mammoth university.
The university campus has 5 big campuses; Jeonju headquarter campus, Iksan campus specialized in the field of veterinary and Agricultural, Wanju, Gochang and Saemangeum.
Through the international dual-degree programs with 14 colleges in 5 countries and academic exchange agreements with 223 universities, Chonbuk National University has been growing as a new mecca for globalization education.
Chonbuk National University, currently, has been aiming at the world top 100 universities by 2020. As a result, it has been ranked the 14th among all South Korea’s universities, the 92th in Asia area by UK QS’s Asia University Evaluation, which was co-evaluated by Chosun Ilbo of South Korea.
Chonbuk National University officials said that it has been focusing on “specialized academic areas” and the “convergence academic area” for basic strategy in order to achieve its goal to be a world top university.
Chonbuk National University’s foreign undergraduate student applications are accepted in October for the spring semester and May for the fall semester. Each semester will run Mar.2nd ~ Jun.20th and late Aug. ~ Dec.15th.
Eligibility for the application are △ students finishing or being about to finish high school in South Korean or abroad whose both parents are non-Korea nationality, or △ Regardless of parents’ citizenship, students who have finished (or are about to finish) foreign educational system from elementary through high school.
