Park Tae-hwan Win 400m Freestyle Swim

Park Tae-hwan, South Korean Olymic games gold medal list, won in the men‘s 400 m freesttyle at the 14th world aquatic championships.

Park recorded 3 minutes 42.04 seconds, Sun Yang fisnished second and Peter Vanderkaay finished third.

Dana Vollmer recorded the fastest time ahead of China’s Lu Ying and Sweden‘s world record holder Sarah Sjoestroem in the womens semi finals with a time of 56.47 seconds.

Alicia Coutts, who managed the fourth-fastest time in the butterfly event, followed that up after a very brief interval to qualify for Monday‘s final of the women’s 200m individual medley by winning her heat.

Australian Stephanie Rice, who won the other semi-final in a time of two minutes 9.65, was fastest, with world record holder Ariana Kukors from the US and China‘s Ye Shiwen also registering faster times than Coutts.
