Sponsored by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, the “2012 Queer Parade,” the 13th gay pride parade, will be held at Hanbit Media Park in central Seoul at 4:30 p.m.

The parade is to draw the highest number of participants and more than 2,000 people are set to march in a gay pride parade in Seoul on Saturday aimed at promoting the rights of sexual minorities, organizers said Friday.

This year‘s event is designed to raise general awareness of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transponders and emphasize their rights for same sex marriage and to form a family, according to the organizers.

South Korea does not outlaw homosexuality, but the gay rights movement has remained relatively low profile past years.
