LG Electronics rolls out curved OLED TVs in China

South Korean tech giant LG Electronics said Friday that it has begun selling OLED (organic light-emitting diode) TVs with curved display in China.

LG launched the 55-inch, curved OLED TVs in April in Korea, and then shipped them to the United States and European countries.

According to market researcher DisplaySearch, sales of curved OLED TVs in China will account for 18 percent of the global curved OLED TV market in 2016.

During the launching ceremony at Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Beijing, Shin Mun-beom, chief of LG Electronics' Chinese unit, said, "In China where the premium TV market is rapidly growing, LG aims to upgrade its image as OLED TV leader and keep its leadership in the market for next-generation TVs."
