President Park Geun-hye will visit Bali in Indonesia from Oct. 6-8 to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, the presidential office announced Friday.

After the APEC forum, Park will fly to Brunei for a summit with leaders of the 10-nation Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the ASEAN+3 summit and the East Asian Summit, the announcement said.

This year's APEC forum will be held under the theme of "Resilient Asia-Pacific, Engine of Global Growth," according to the organizers.

Park will deliver a keynote speech on the "creative economy" her administration is promoting as a national agenda at the APEC CEO Summit slated for Oct. 6.

During the Session I on Oct. 7, Park will give an address on the APEC's role in strengthening the multilateral trading system.

Comprised of 21 member economies, APEC accounts for 57 percent of the world's gross domestic product (GDP) and 48 percent of the global trade. It is the world's largest economic cooperation body.

In a summit scheduled for Oct. 10, Park and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will discuss ways of expanding comprehensive economic partnership between the two nations and increasing South Korean companies' investment in Indonesia, and Korean businesses' participation in construction of infrastructure in the Southeast Asian country, the announcement said.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Seoul and Jakarta.
