Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts to leave its post and join Apple Inc.

Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts decided to renounce her title and to join Apple, Inc. as a senior vice president. She will begin her term in mid 2014. This is one of the Apple’s ambitious move to boost its retail efforts and to squeeze into tech markets in China. According to CNN Money, Ahrendts was “the highest paid CEO in the U.K. and is one of the country’s highest profile female executives.”
                      
Ahrendts successfully led Burberry into the fashion market in China since she took Burberry CEO post in 2006. She is known for utilizing digital and social media to its fullest extent to heighten the brand image.
 
Burberry Chief Creative Officer and fashion designer Christopher Bailey will take over Ahrendts’ post.
 
Angela Ahrendts was born and raised in Indiana and was Executive Vice President at Liz Claiborne Inc. from 1998 to 2005.
