Katheryn Deprill, 27, became famous when she was only 3 weeks old as the "Burger King baby." She was left in a Burger King restroom in Allentown, Pennsylvania back on September 15, 1986.

After becoming a mother herself, Deprill started her quest to seek for her birth mother on March 2nd through Facebook. She posted a photo of herself holding a card on the page she created that read “Looking for my birth mother." She gave birth to me September 15th, 1986. She abandoned me in the Burger King bathroom only hours old, Allentown, PA. Please help me find her by sharing my post. Maybe she will see this. Thank you.” Along with her message, she posted a photo of her when she was a baby and photos of new articles from 1986 that she got from her adoptive parents, Brenda and Carl Hollis. To prove the power of social media, Deprill found her birth mother only three weeks after she started the page.

With the picture, she wrote, “I want her to know that I am not mad at her fro what she did, however I have so many questions to ask her and also to start a relationship with my biological mother. Please help me find her by sharing my post. Maybe she will see this.” The post went viral on Facebook and was shared over 30,000 times.

Katheryn’s wish came true and her birth mother—who wishes her identity to remain secret—reached out to her through attorney John Waldron.

Deprill and her birth mother were reunited on Monday (EST). Deprill finally had all her questions answered and got the hug she wished for 27 years.

According to Waldron, the birthmother gave birth to Deprill when she was only 17 years old after getting raped by a stranger during a family trip in a foreign country when she was a 16-year-old. After the “emotional and dramatic” meeting, both Deprill and her birth mother wished to be involved in each other’s life from then on.

Katheryn Deprill is an EMT and a mother of 3 sons now.
