Hollywood film ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ draws 3 million moviegoers

“Edge of Tomorrow,” a 2014 science fiction film starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, topped the South Korean box office chart for the two consecutive week last weekend, according to the Korean Film Council on Tuesday.

The Hollywood film attracted 679,768 moviegoers at 706 theaters nationwide from June 13 to June 15. They accounted for 40.1 percent of the total viewers during the three-day period.

The cumulative ‘ticket sales of “Edge of Tomorrow,” released on June 4, reached 3,045,572.

“A Hard Day,” a South Korean film starring actor Lee Sun-kyun, retained its No. 2 position, with 366,917 moviegoers or 20.7% of the total. Its aggregate ticket sales exceeded 2 million.
