Host Brazil to take on Chile in Round of 16; Mexico to face Netherlands

Host Brazil and Mexico have advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Brazil gained a berth to the second round, by defeating Cameroon 4-1 in a Group A preliminary match at the Mane Garrincha National Stadium in Brasilia, Monday (local time) to claim the top spot in the group.

In the 16-team knockout stage, Brazil will take on Chile which took the second spot in Group B.

In another Group A match on the same day, Mexico beat Croatia 3-1 to claim the second spot in the group.

Mexico will face the Netherlands in the second round.

The Netherlands topped Group B, by beating Chile 2-0.
