If stores in the street use heating devices indoor with their doors wide open, they will be fined. This is is part of the government's energy-saving campaigns, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy said. The ministry and a civic group held an event to launch energy-saving campaigns on Monday at the Korea Federation of Banks building in Myeong-dong, central Seoul. Many store owners with heating devices, particularly in popular shopping districts, refused to close their doors during business hours, saying that the closure will cause a decrease in sales.
