South Korea unveils 23-man roster for Asian Cup tournament

South Korea Monday announced its 23-man roster for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup football tournament. which will take place in Australia in January.

The national soccer team's head coach, Uli Stielike, unveiled the roster at the Korea Football Association (KFC) building in Seoul. KFC is the country's football governing body. 

The squad includes:

Goalkeepers: Jung Sung-ryong (Suwon Bluewings), Kim Seung-gyu (Ulsan Hyundai) and Kim Jin-hyeon (Cerezo Osaka).
  
Defenders: Kim Chang-soo (Kashiwa Reysol), Kwak Tae-hwi (Al-Hilal), Park Joo-ho (Mainz 05), Cha Du-ri (FC Seoul), Kim Jin-su (TSG Hoffenheim), Kim Young-gwon (Guangzhou Evergrande), Kim Joo-young (FC Seoul) and Jang Hyun-soo (Guangzhou Fuli).

Midfielders: Ki Sung-yueng (Sunderland), Han Kook-young (Qatar SC), Son Heung-min (Bayer Leverkusen), Lee Chung-yong (Bolton Wanderers), Koo Ja-cheol (Mainz 05), Han Kyo-won (Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors), Nam Tae-hee (Lekhwiya SC), Lee Myung-joo (Al Ain) and Kim Min-woo (Sagan Tosu).  

Forwards: Lee Keun-ho (El Jaish SC), Lee Jeong-hyeop (Sangju Sangmu) and Cho Young-cheol (Qatar SC).

In the Asian Cup tournament which is set to kick off Jan. 9, South Korea will play in Group A alongside Oman, Kuwait and host Australia.

South Korea is scheduled to play its final pre-Asian Cup tune-up match against Saudi Arabia in Sydney on Jan. 4.
