South Korean power-hitting infielder Kang Jung-ho has been selected as one of "10 talented names you need to know before the season begins" by the MLB's official website.

Kang of Pirates "hasn't had a great spring, hitting .171 with two homers and four RBIs. But he has showed some signs of improvement as of late and will be on the Opening Day roster come April 6. Let's hope he can bring some of his 40-homer, Ho-Bros magic to Pittsburgh this year," MLB.com said.

He hit .356 with 40 home runs and 117 RBIs in 501 plate appearances last season for the Nexen Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO).

Other "interesting, talented" players to know for Opening Day include: Daniel Norris of Blue Jays; Taijuan Walker of Mariners; Joc Pederson of Dodgers; Jorge Soler of Cubs; Mookie Betts of Red Sox; Dalton Pompey of Blue Jays; Rusney Castillo of Red Sox; Pat Venditte of A's; and Burt Reynolds of Mariners.
