According to the data compiled by the Bank of Korea (BOK), registered users of smartphone-based mobile banking services totaled 48.2 million in number as of the end of last year, up 29.6 percent from a year earlier.
The smartphone banking service has rapidly gained popularity since its introduction in December 2009.
