South Korean crime drama "The Classified File" topped the local box office upon its release Thursday, according to the country's official box-office tracker. The film drew 181,749 viewers on the day of its release, the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) said. Directed by Kwak Kyung-taek, the movie is based on a 33-day kidnapping case in the southeastern port city of Busan in 1978.

Hollywood blockbuster "Jurassic World," which opened in the country a week earlier, was ranked second with 119,664 moviegoers, KOFIC said.
