Samsung Group heir apparent apologizes over spread of MERS at Samsung Medical Center

Lee Jay-yong, vice chairman of Samsung Electronics and heir apparent to its parent Samsung Group, bows to apologize over the spread of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) in South Korea at a hospital affiliated with the group, Tuesday. Samsung Medical Center (SMC) in southern Seoul has been blamed as nearly half of the country's MERS transmissions occurred there. As of Tuesday morning, the number of confirmed cases totaled 175, with the death toll standing at 27, according to health authorities. Lee offered the apology at Samsung Electronics' office in southern Seoul.
