Girls' Generation's new single 'Lion Heart' tops 6 local music charts upon its release

K-pop group Girls' Generation's new single "Lion Heart" topped six local music charts as soon as it was released Tuesday noon. The single took the No. 1 spot in the music charts, including Genie, Bugs and Mnet, two and a half hours after its release. "Lion Heart" is one of the two title tracks of the group's fifth full-length album of the same name. 

In an article headlined "Girls' Generation Drop Sassy, Soul Pop-Inspired Single 'Lion Heart,'" Tuesday (local time), Billboard magazine said: "So far, Girls' Generation's latest music has proven to be music for the ladies with tunes and visuals that stick up for their fellow females in a fun and playful way - a significant difference from cheering on men in their 'Mr.Mr.' single."
