The company promised that the tablet will have decent processing power, good color saturation and seven hours of battery life. There are also front and rear cameras.
Amazon announced on the same day that it plans to sell the tablet for the price of US$50.
The new tablet's low price is to encourage more people to buy a device that will hook them on watching video, reading books, playing games and shopping on a computer that's easy to carry wherever they go, it said.
Amzaon also launched an all-new Fire TV with streamers, capable of delivering 4K resolutions, priced at $100.
