South Korea's crime-action flick "Veteran" has been chosen as the opening film for the inaugural edition of the London East Asian Film Festival (LEAFF) to be held later this month, the organizers said.

The first LEAFF will be held in the British capital from Oct. 23 to Oct. 25, with titles from East Asia, including South Korea, China, Japan and Hong Kong, to be screened, they said.

"Veteran" starring actors Hwang Jung-min and Yoo Ah-in was directed by Ryoo Seung-wan, who is known for thrillers, including “The Berlin File (2012)."

The Chinese-Hong Kong action film "SPL2: A Time for Consequences" directed by Cheang Pou-soi, will screen during the closing night of the three-day event, they said.
