Korean historical action film 'The Tiger' to open in North America in January 2016

South Korean historical action film "The Tiger: An Old Hunter's Tale (2014)" starring actor Choi Min-sik will open in North America in January next year, its distributor, NEW, in Seoul and KBS America said Tuesday.

They said they signed the contract during the American Film Market, an annual film industry event held in Santa Monica, California, Nov. 4 (local time).

Choi plays Cheon Man-deok who tries to hunt down the last tiger of Joseon (old name of Korea) during Japan's colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula (1910-1945).

The movie will be released in South Korean cinemas on Dec. 16, according to the distributor.
