Marathoners at the “Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon 2015” which was held in Bangkok, Thailand, Sunday had to run seven more kilometers than its planned course because of a mistake.

The half marathon event was originally planned as a 21 kilometers. But a race official made a mistake by telling the runners to take a U-turn at a wrong point of the course. Since the runners ran laps around the course, with the wrong U-turn, approximately seven kilometers were added.

Marathoners felt something was wrong, but it was after the race when they found out that they were right. Many of the runners have shown their anger by complaining to the officials. Some of the marathoners did not even finish the race because they weren’t able to control their running pace, exhausted.

The Jogging Association of Thailand, one of two organizers of the event, apologized to the runners who were in the race, Monday. According to a report by Associated Press, Songrakm Kraison, the vice president of the jogging association said, “It will not happen in the future”.
