In response to atrocities in Paris, “Anonymous”, the infamous hacking group has declared “total war” against Islamic State (IS, formerly known as ISIS or ISIL). IS had claimed responsibility of more than 130 people dead and 300 wounded.

Anonymous tweeted “Make no Mistake: Anonymous Is at war with Daesh (A name of IS, which they hate). We won’t stop opposing Islamic State. We’re also better hackers.”

The hacking group started its own war against IS by taking down websites related to the terrorists. Also, according to its tweets, Anonymous is to join with other hacking groups in order to fight IS. “BinarySec” is the one. BinarySec had revealed 83 names of IS agents via twitter, Monday. The names were collected by hacking twitter accounts and other websites, according to BinarySec.

The announcement of the top hacking groups waging war on IS alerted them. IS dispatched an urgent notice to its agents featuring tips on how to reduce the chance of hacking. Another hacking group “Ghost SecPI” tweeted the contents of the IS urgent message, which they intercepted.

The tips were very simple. Urging the agents to change IP address often and use VPN if available or warning them not to open any emails which are sent from an unknown person.

However, Anonymous’ war against IS won’t be easy as it seems. IS had been recruiting skilled hackers from all over the world to prevent hacking groups stealing vital information of IS online.
