The news coordinated attacks of Islamic State (IS, formerly known as ISIS or ISIL) in Paris Friday is spreading shock and horror worldwide, a the Middle East political expert analyzed that Korea may not be safe from IS’ attack.

According to a report by Jun Gi-yeon, a reporter of AJU NEWS CORP, Ahmed Shazly, an editor of Egyptian news agency pointed out that “Any country in union with U.S or supporting the country may be open to terrorist threats.”

“Seeing that France and Austrailia were attacked, the countries which IS saw as allies of western union, They are very likely to attack any country or organization on their path” he emphasized.

Korea is well known as a strong ally of U.S. Since the Korean War, two countries have been cooperating for mutual benefits. Joint military training is carried out annually and both countries are very close in its economy and politics.

However, because Korea’s support on U.S is carried out more in a humanitarian way, there was no threat until now. But it is uncertain is Korea is perfectly safe from terrorist attacks.
