While France is under grief from last Friday night’s attacks in Paris, the Prime Minister fears that there may be a risk of chemical or biological weapon being used in France by terrorists.

Manuel Valls, the Prime Minister of France, spoke at the National Assembly, Thursday, "Terrorism hit France not because of what it is doing in Iraq and Syria, but for what it is," Valls said, "We know that there could also be a risk of chemical or biological weapons."

Valls did say more about the chemical and biological weapon threat. It is not known whether if attacks specified by the Prime Minister are imminent.

After Valls’ speech, the lower house of the parliament voted to extend a state of emergency. The vote was to extend the state of emergency for three more months. Getting the parliament’s approval, the measure will go onto the Senate on Friday. Political experts said it is likely to win the Senate’s approval.

The state of emergency expands police powers to arrest, carry out searches and take other measures without warrant if a threat is expected. Police are also able to limit vehicle or human traffic, blocking road if needed.
