‘The Priests’ to enter U.S. box-office

An occult film “The Priests” is going to open in U.S cinemas starting from November 26. The film’s distributor CJ Entertainment confirmed that the film will start screening in areas of Los Angeles and Dallas. Later it will expand its screening cinemas to Canada and other parts of the U.S.

The second on the list of Korean box-office, The Priests is a fictional film about two priests trying to perform an exorcism on a high school girl who is possessed by a demon.

Despite the horror-thriller genre featuring exorcism is a very rare one in Korean film industry, The movie drew 1.4 million movie fans during its first weekend, breaking the million marks in three days of its opening, the movie earned the title “million markers in shortest period” in Korean Film history.

Experts from the industry are positive about the film screening in U.S. “Exorcism is the one of popular genres in U.S.” an Expert said. “With stylish screenplay by Kang Dong-won and Kim Yun-suk supported by the strong plot will be more than enough to fascinate moviegoers in U.S.”

With The Priests second on the Korean box-office, the first is “Inside men” starring Lee Byung-hun.
