“Speedtest.net”, the world’s most popular internet speed test website, had dropped Adobe Flash. Instead of the controversial plug-in, the testing site began using HTML5 version of the service.

Flash had been a pain in the back for causing security issues online. In recent months, it had been a passage for ransomware infection. Users can get infected by ransomware just by entering a website with an infected Flash Ad displayed.

Flash, a software tool which had been used since the boom of the internet from the 90’s, were criticized by the public for its lack of security and performance. Its programming figures and algorithms are comparably easier for hackers to install a malware or a spyware.

Adobe itself nailed it’s once signature software last month by urging programmers and web developers to stop building with the tool.

With Speedtest.net and other popular services leading the movement, Experts of the industry predicts that Flash’s end is near. Already users are urging Netflix and HBO to remove Flash from their system and individual web developers and website owners are participating in the movement too.
