Hyundai releases Genesis EQ900

Hyundai Motor Group announced release of its luxury brand Genesis’ EQ900 (international model name – G90) on Tuesday, a premium full-sized sedan with latest tech all Hyundai has to offer.

“EQ900 is a premium sedan which Hyundai took great care in developing. We are aiming to advance into international car market by applying every latest tech of Hyundai.” Jung Mong-gu, the President of Hyundai Motor Group addressed the visitors of the releasing event held at Hyatt Hotel, Seoul.

“With the best performance and art of the line quality control, EQ900 will compete with the world’s finest rivals,” He added.

The luxury sedan EQ900 is the top class of six lines which the Genesis brand will develop by the year 2020. The project started as “HI” last 2012 and had over 1,200 engineers involved during its 4 years of development.

EQ900’s rivals are Mercedes Benz S class, BMW 7 Series and other models which share the similar segment. One of distinguishing features of EQ900 is “Highway Driving Assistant” (HAD). It assists the driver when driving on a highway. Hyundai explained the technology applied is similar to a system applied to an unmanned vehicle.

Incomparable comfort is important aspect needed in the full-sized sedan segment. “First Class VIP Seat” is installed in the EQ900’s rear seat. The VIP seat is designed and developed from an idea of the first class seats installed in airliners.
