Hideo Kojima to return with PS4 exclusive

Hideo Kojima, famed director of “Metal Gear Solid” console game series, has now officially exited Konami Games as of December 15.

Japan’s Nikkei newspaper reported on Tuesday, that the director “will for a new company with the intent of creating games for platforms like Sony’s PlayStation” the newspaper wrote. Some employees from the Kojima production of Konami will join the director.

Kojima who directed the Metal Gear series from the 80s, originally on NSX platform, successfully expanded the franchise into worldwide hits. His last work at Konami released this year, “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain”, is accounted as one of the best games released in the year 2015.

But there were rumors in recent years which Kojima and Konami are in dispute over his presence in the game company. Konami had been reducing its invest on PC / console gaming department and instead, the company sought interest in development of Pachinko (Japanese gambling game) machines.

The rumors were backed up by Easter eggs hidden his games. In “Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes”, a player can find hidden messages which imply his exodus from Konami Games.

As the news of his resignation from Konami spread, online communities are busy celebrating. Fans feared that they may not be able to play Kojima’s game anymore, but as Nikkei reported, The fear in vanished.
