Bomb alarm caused by a fake bomb hidden in a lavatory of Paris-bound Air France airliner caused chaos among its passengers, forcing the airplane to make an emergency landing in Kenya, on Sunday.

According to a report from Associated Press, a retired French police officer was detained at the Charles de Gaulle airport after the incident, but the French authority did not release any information about the suspect.

Kenyan Interior Minister Joseph Nkaissery said a retired French police officer was named suspect after being questioned in Kenya with five other passengers. According to the minister, sniffing dogs traced the package back to the seats of the policeman and his companion back to the lavatory.

Since France is under a state of emergency after organized terrorist attacks on November 13th, which resulted in 130 people killed and hundreds wounded, the retired policeman would have to face severe charges if his actions claimed by the Kenyan government are proved true.
