The force is strong in this one. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (TFA) took 12 days to haul a global box-office of U.S$ 1 billion. The previous record holder was “Jurassic World” which broke the same record in its 13th day of its opening.

December’s box-office always had been the most severe battlefield of films. With holiday seasons from all over the world, moviegoers are more eager for another flick if any chance is given.

TFA is breaking multiple records in the U.S. and worldwide. Recording 154 million on its opening weekend, surpassing Jurassic World’s $103 million, the Star Wars’ 7th movie is about to overcome James Cameron’s The Avatar in all time domestic gross and all time worldwide gross.

Star Wars’ license owner Disney’s also happy. TFA pulled the company’s box-office tickets of this year over $2 billion, which is the first time in the studio’s history. The Sci-fi movie will probably boost the company’s ticket sales as it opens in China in January 2016.
