Lotte replaces head of duty-free department

Lotte Group appointed Chang Sun-wook, the new head of Hotel Lotte’s duty-free operations on Monday. The replacement of the head of the department was expected of results from failing to maintain the license for an urban duty-free shop.

Chang, the head of Lotte’s advertising agency Daehong Communications, is fully experienced in fields of tourism and the company expects him to boost up abilities of duty-free shops.

Conglomerates including Lotte and Doosan had been in a battle over licenses to run duty-free shops domestically, resulting in Lotte failing in gaining a license for a duty-free shop at Jamsil, World Tower.

Lee Hong-kyu, the former head resigned taking responsibility for losing the license. But Lee will still stay at Lotte as a senior advisor.
