A Severe flood in Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil made 150000 individuals to leave their homes. The hardest-hit country, Paraguay, has declared a state of emergency.

Heavy summer rains have caused rivers to swell across a vast area.

In Paraguay, the most influenced nation, President Horacio Cartes declared a state of emergency, freeing up $3.5m (£2.3m) in relief funds.

"In Paraguay's capital, Asuncion, 125,000 homes were without power as electricity distribution centers were knocked out across the country. Rescue operations are also underway to bring stranded families to safety. The mayor of one town in Uruguay called it the worst flooding in 50 years.

Nearly 200 electricity pylons have been damaged or destroyed by strong winds.

Four people were killed in the country by fallen trees.

In northern Argentina, some 20,000 people have been evacuated.

The Associated Press reported that Authorities say the Paraguay River rose to nearly 24 feet on Wednesday. That's near its highest level of 1983 when it reached 25.3 feet.

The flooding is most dangerous for residents of low-lying slums, the wire service says. "Most are seeking shelter in camps on higher ground, where they're sleeping in improvised tents."

Dry climate is figure for the Brazilian-Uruguayan outskirt locale in the following couple of days, however in Paraguay and Argentina water levels are still anticipated that would rise.
