The concept of smart home had been around for years but was not adopted by many. Some tried to take the idea further by connecting everything, but consumers weren’t very much interested because it wasn’t handy.

Expert of the industry predicts that smart home system is still at its beginning stage, its manufacturers not sure of its potential. The expert presumed that tackling obstacles against convenient uses of the system is the key to its growth. Once consumers are sure that the smart home platform is easy and convenient to use, then it will be like a snowball. Growing bigger and bigger.

Samsung is to introduce a smart home platform starting with super ultra high definition (SUHD) televisions which were announced last week and the TVs are to have IoT features.

Samsung’s rival, LG is also going to introduce its smart home platform. LG’s new set of televisions will have its own operating system (OS), Web OS 3.0. According to a source, the TV will be the center of a smart home system being able to control and monitor home appliances.

Also, Samsung’s new wearable devices are expected to be introduced at the CES. Samsung Electronics recently have announced that the company had started mass production of its bioprocessors to expand onto the healthcare wearable market.
