Intel, a hardware manufacturer and the world’s largest chipset company is eyeing on wearable market. At Consumer Electronics Show (CES) keynote held at Las Vegas on Tuesday, Intel introduced its plans on collaborating with other sportswear companies.

During the keynote, Intel CEO Brian Kranich announced that the company had signed a deal with New Balance to make smart watches. Mr. Kranich described the watch as an Android Wear running device. The CEO emphasized that the device is designed by runners and for runners.

The smart watch will be developed through a cooperation between Intel and New Balance’s Digital Sports division. Mr. Kranich said that he believes the wearable device will have Intel’s tech inside, and New Balance will hone its design and feel. Also, New Balance will provide the IT giant with know-hows on tracking human movement.

Intel is not done on expanding its business onto the wearable market. The company also introduced “Radar Pace”. “A smart eyewear,” the CEO described, is a work of collaboration between Intel and Oakley.

The eyewear will track the user and with more development, it will become a personal coach giving instructions on fitness and running. The eyewear is due to launch in late 2016.
