South Korea resumed using its loudspeakers located at the border of North Korea for propaganda. Although the method of playing propaganda messages and music is very classic, bombarding the North with songs by idol groups is a new idea.

According to multiple sources, the South Korean Defense Ministry had added idol group's songs in anti-North Korea broadcasts. G friends dance song “Me Gustas Tu”, and A-Pink’s “Let Us Just Love” are included in the list.

A pop-culture critic Kim Kyo-suk pointed out that selecting idol-groups’ songs for propaganda movements against the North is a very good idea.

“Most idol-groups’ songs are very simple, repetitive, and easy to remember. Once they get in your head, it never leaves. Also, the rhythm and its Lyrics are also very simple. They would work very well as a psychological weapon.” Mr. Kim said.

South Korea resumed its propaganda broadcasts on Friday, two days after the North claimed that they have successfully carried out a nuclear bomb test. The previous broadcast came to a halt on August 25, 2015, when Pyongyang reached out to Seoul with reconciliatory gestures.
