Park Geun-hye, President of South Korea will make a public statement and hold a press conference on Wednesday. The statement will be about North Korea’s bomb test which was carried out last week.
According to an announcement from Blue House, the presidential residence, the lady president will deliver the statement before a press conference. President Park is expected to take stern stature against the North’s violation of peace treaties.
Seoul and Pyongyang started the year off in tension. Pyongyang carried out a nuclear bomb test on January 6 and claimed that a hydrogen bomb test was successfully done. As a retaliatory action, South Korea resumed propaganda loudspeaker broadcasting in the border with North Korea.
Tension tightened as the broadcast resumed on Friday, which was the birthday of Kim Jung-un, supreme leader of North Korea.
The international community is in consideration of taking measures against Pyongyang.
