HTC released pre-order starting date for its much-anticipated virtual reality (VR) headset “Vive”. Its pre-orders will start on February 29. But how much it will cost is not yet known.

This year’s full of expectations since VR headsets such as HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PlayStation VR are to be released. But last week was also a bit of a shock for VR fans, with Oculus Rift starting its pre-orders with a price of U.S$ 599.

The price is somewhat expensive than what the fans expected. Before the announcement, experts and fans predicted the latest tech VR headset system to be around $300~400. Based on how much Oculus Rift costs, fans fear that HTC Vive will be no less cheap than its rival.

Getting through a competition of endless clicking and succeeding in making a pre-order in time is a pain in the back, but more awaits. HTC Vive users would, at least, need Intel i7 processor and at 8 gigabytes of ram. The PC would also need beefy graphic cards such as NVIDIA GTX 970 series and a lot of memory storage.

But HTC Vive also has an advantage to its rival Oculus. HTC’s VR system will include a set of exclusive controllers. Oculus Rift had included a Xbox One controller to its set, but if a user wants to use the exclusive controllers, they would have to buy it separately and it would cost them some money.
