KARA, a four-member South Korean idol group is likely to separate after failing to renew their contract with their agency DSP Media.

A source from the industry told AJU NEWS CORP. that KARA’s original members- Hara, Seungyeon, and Gyuri decided not to stay with DSP Media and their contract end on February 2, which has less than a month left.

Rumors of disbanding speculated since the last fall. KARA could not be seen in the music scene after their Japanese tour. It was unusual for an idol group with such popularity as KARA to come to a halt for no reason.

The source said that the original members of KARA are seeking to continue their career, but it is unlikely that they will come back as singers. Youngji, however, still has a contract with DSP Media.

Although rumors are stacking, DSP Media is keeping its silence over what the company plans to do with KARA.
