Tribute to legend David Bowie flood YouTube

Following the glam-rock legend David Bowie’s death on Monday, his fans are uploading tributes on YouTube. Among the tributes, includes a cover song of “Space Oddity” by a retired Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield.

Mr. Hadfield originally filmed the cover song in 2013, when he was at the International Space Station (ISS) and after Bowie’s death, the former astronaut revised the song and had it uploaded again. The cover song clip recorded accumulated views of nearly 30 million.

Among the tributes to the late rock icon, Mr. Hadfield’s clip stands out because the fact it’s filmed on the ISS, matches the lyrics of the song Space Oddity. Stunning views of earth can be seen throughout the clip and it’s filled with the unique voice of Mr. Hadfield.

The former astronaut is also a talented musician who had released albums which covered Bowie’s songs before.

Almost 5,500 clips which tribute to Bowie have been uploaded since his death. The singer-songwriter who excelled in glam rock, funk, art rock, soul, dance pop, and electronic was an influential figure in the history of modern music.

After 18 months long fight against cancer, the rock legend died at 69, only three days after releasing his 25th album on his birthday.
