South Korea’s second-in-rank car manufacturer, Kia Motors started sales of its full-sized sedan “K7” on Tuesday.
The full sized sedan debuted in 2009. Its streamlined, distinctive design appealed towards customers, became a hit. Kia Motors aims to retain K7’s image as one of the top full sized sedans and compete with Toyota’s Avalon in global markets.
The K7, fully changed from its earlier models, is a front-wheel driven sedan with an eight-speed transmission. The new transmission installed enhances driving performances and fuel efficiency. The Kia Motors’ official stated that the K7 will provide its driver and passengers with smooth and dynamic driving experience.
Major changes in exterior design are also new features of the K7. Radiator grille and headlamps underwent changes to present a luxurious impression. The vehicle’s side was designed for a sporty and speedy image.
K7 comes in four different types of powertrains. 2.4-liter, 3.3-liter gasoline, and 2.2-liter diesel models. Kia Motors plans to release a hybrid model of the K7 during the second half of the year.
