Dutch Police is training eagles to hunt down drones. The law enforcers released a video of birds in training, which the birds brutally attack the drones in mid-air, crashing them down onto earth.

With drones violating privacy and being a potential threat to people’s safety, law enforcers and civilians around the world are looking for a way to hunt down drones. The methods introduced so far are shooting down drones with specialized ammunitions, frying the drones’ chipsets thus disabling them by shooting electromagnetic waves towards them, or launch a law enforcing drone which shoots nets to catch other drones.

Compared to other methods, Dutch law enforcers’ method is very unique. The police are training eagles to catch drones mid-air. However, this method leaves a possibility of birds getting hurt by drones’ rotors. Dutch police spokesman said that they are looking for ways to protect the eagles from injuries.

Currently, Dutch law enforcers are in evaluation of this drone hunting method, and in a few months, the police will decide whether this is appropriate way to hunt down drones.
