Put aside patent lawsuits, Apple and Samsung Electronics had been close partners over the years. Although they competed to become the king of the smartphones, but they partnered when it came to chips. But Apple may ditch its partner for A10 chips.

According to a report from South Korea’s Electronic Times, the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will be the only chip provider for the new A10 chips. A10 is the new processor used in the new upcoming iPhone 7.

This is not the first time for Apple to work with TSMC. TSMC had been providing Apple with A8 for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and had been the same with A9 which is used in iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. But Samsung also manufactured, and provided A9 to Apple.

Electronic Times reported that TSMC will start production of A10 in June ahead of iPhone 7’s release this Fall. The A10 is expected to be a ten nanometer design.
