Kim Soo-hyun and BigBang win best hallyu awards

South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun and boy band BigBang have won the tiles of Best Actor and Best Boy Group in a global online vote by 40 million K-pop fans, a US-based website said Wednesday.

Soompi, which covers the Korean pop culture wave "Hallyu", announced the winners of the Soompi Awards 2015, based on a vote by fans from 139 countries from December 21 to January 7.

Kim Soo-hyun won Best Actor in a Drama for his role in "Producers," a workplace TV drama. He gained popularity in 2014, starring in the fantasy-romance TV drama "My Love from the Star".

Actress Song Ji-hyo won Best Actress in TV for her role in TV variety show "Running Man".

In music, BigBang was ranked first, followed by Bangtan Boys (BTS) and EXO. Girls Generation won for Best Girl Group.

Best Male and Female Solo Artists went to Kyuhyun of Super Junior and singer-songwriter IU.
