Beijing grabs the title of “City with most billionaire”

Beijing, capital city of China has taken the title of “city with most billionaire” from New York. Also, China now has more billionaires than the US. The “Big Two” has more than half of the billionaires on Earth.

According to “Hurun Global Rich List 2016” by Hurun Report, Beijing now has 100 billionaires living in the city, up 32 from last year. New York, which used to be the city with most billionaires, has 95. Only up 4 more from 2015.

China also had a steep rise in number of billionaires last year, overtook the US. In 2015, 90 people were added to China’s list and the report says China now has 596 billionaires. The US has lost two from the list,

Hurun Report analyzed that the net worth of Chinese billionaires at US$ 1.4 trillion. Hurun Report said that the most money comes from real estate, manufacturing, and tech related businesses.

However, while China added five new billionaires per week over the course of 2015, the richest individuals in the world were mostly from the US. Below is the list
