South Korean actor Jung Woo-sung is to visit Lebanon to meet Syrian refugees who are suffering from ongoing civil war in March.

Mr. Jung, Goodwill Ambassador for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), will visit Lebanon, Beirut, and Western Bekaa where refugees’ shelters are located. The actor will share stories of himself and of refugees’ to give messages of hope to endure their current situation.

“My heart is heavy with the thoughts of meeting the refugees in person.” Mr. Jung said, “My visit is aimed at hearing what they need the most right now. So that I can return to Korea and start working on how to raise more sponsorship for the people.”

There is one refugee for every five Lebanese, making Lebanon the world’s largest number of Syrian refugees in comparison to the nation’s population. Because of ongoing Syrian civil war, refugees are rapidly rising in numbers.
