Due to increasing demand for flexible OLED display panels in smart devices market, Samsung plans to double its manufacturing capability by investing KR\ 400 billion (US$ 3.32 million).
According to Business Korea’s report on Thursday, Samsung Display had started investing to increase production lines of OLED displays at its existing factory in Tangjeong located in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea.
When the expansion of product line is done, the production capability is expected to increase more than double amount from current 39,000 sheets per month to 90,000 sheets per month. Business Korea wrote the new production line is likely to start operation in the first half of 2017.
