A South Korean consortium led by Hyundai Engineering & Construction has secured a 2.93 billion US dollar deal from Kuwait to build re-gasification facilities and liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanks, Hyundai officials said Monday.
The consortium includes state-run Korea Gas Corp. Under the deal with Kuwait National Petroleum, Hyundai plans to complete the project in Al-Zour, about 90 kilometers (54 miles) south of Kuwait City in 2020.
Korea Gas, which accounts for $12 million of the project, will be in charge of testing the plant's operation.
