Gummy, a South Korean female vocalist dominated the Korean music charts on Monday with "You Are My Everything", a track from the OST from hit drama "Descendants of the Sun".
The OST track skyrocketed in the charts since its release on March 9, placing itself on the top of total daily and real time charts in music streaming services- Melon, Mnet, Bugs, Olleh, Soribada, Genie, Naver Music, and Monkey3.
Gummy had been music fans' favorite with her powerful vocal skills, but the popularity of the hit drama Descendants of the Sun definitely helped the track soar. The drama is phenomenal as its viewership rose past 30 percent last week, sharing its popularity with other drama related contents such as OSTs.
"Descendants of the Sun" is a 16-episode long drama telling a love story between an army captain and a female doctor, who are on a mission together in a fictional war-torn country called Uruk to save lives. Unlike other Korean dramas, it was pre-produced.
