South Korea has been allowed to resume exports of poultry products to Hong Kong for the first time in two years after the country regained its bird flu-free status at the end of last month, the agriculture ministry said.

The ministry said quarantine authorities in Hong Kong had agreed to import fresh South Koran poultry products, including chicken and duck meats and eggs, beginning last Friday, following negotiations with its South Korean counterparts last week.

Hong Kong halted imports of South Korean poultry products in May 2014 due to the bird flu outbreak in South Korea.
