Luxury home appliances produced by South Korea's LG electronics will hit the domestic market this week, starting with starting with a 9,402 US dollar OLED TV, company officials said Monday.

LG said Its Signature extra-premium luxury brand will go on sale in South Korea this week before reaching markets in Europe and the United States.

The launch of Signature products at home underlines LG's efforts to outshine at the home appliance market as its smartphone sales remained weak due to competition with Samsung Electronics.

"LG Signature will help our company boost our image as a premium brand as it provides top quality and design as well as new experience," Cho Sung-jin, president of LG's home appliance division, told reporters.

The first Signature product available will be LG's new 65-inch organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV which carries a price tag of 11 million won ($9,402).

All Signature products will receive special services from an exclusive team of experts. LG's Signature refrigerator, priced at 8.5 million won, will make its debut at home in April.
