AlphaGo set out to battle human in game of StarCraft 2

AlphaGo, Google DeepMind's super AI is likely to battle another human player. This time, the battle will be over a game of StarCraft t2.

After the AI beating Lee Sedol, the Go grandmaster last week, Google set out to have talks with Activision Blizzard, the creator of StarCraft, at the "World Championship Series Circuit: Shanghai All-Stars", which took place over the last weekend.

Tim Morton, the lead producer of Blizzard, told ZDNet that "Google and Blizzard are talking about the battle between the AI and a human player, but nothing is decided yet." ZDNet reported quoting Morton, "Although nothing's specific, Blizzard wants the best of StarCraft players to compete with the AI and high rankers such as Park Ryung-woo, Kim Yoo-jin from South Korea are very likely to be the opponent of the AlphaGo."

AlphaGo, a computer program developed by Google's artificial intelligence (AI) team DeepMind, scored a 4-1 victory against Lee, one of the world's best players, in a five-game match in Seoul that ended on March 15.
